We are LOUD
Based out of Laurel, Maryland, LOUD Dance Collective has consistently trained and produced dancers that push the technical boundaries of what dance could/should be.
Whether you want to learn ballroom, hip hop, contemporary, ballet or vogueing, our team of dance educators does it ALL!
At our dance studio, we offer private dance lessons, group dance classes, and create overall unique dance experiences for students of any age.

Meet CJ
Hey there! I’m CJ. I have been dancing since I was two years old. I’ve learned and experienced multiple styles of dance. I have been a member of Culture Shock DC since 2018. The styles I am most comfortable with are modern dance and hip hop.
Meet AMBAR
Hi! My name is Ambar Francis. I am 21 years old. I am an upcoming senior at UMD majoring in Government and Politics International Relations, with a minor in Public Leadership. I have been dancing with Miss J Martin as my teacher for the past six years. I have danced and competed as a member of LOUD’s senior competition team for three of those years.
Meet ANASTASIA
Hello! My name is Anastasia. I am a junior at UMBC where I study Dance Education. I have been dancing since the age of nine and have experience in almost every style. I am excited to teach and assist multiple classes during this year’s LDC Summer Intensive!
Meet ASHLEY
Hi! My name is Ashley Rodriguez. I am currently studying Psychology at Towson University. I danced throughout high school and performed with the elite dance company for two of those years. I have danced competitively for three years. Recently, I took a Fundamental Movement course that expanded my already diverse range of styles including modern, contemporary, lyrical, and other forms of movement.
Meet JON
Hi! My name is Jonathan Tucker (I go by Jon). I have trained in many styles of dance including modern, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. I danced competitively for two years where I won numerous awards for my work in group, duet, and solo choreography. I am also self-taught in acrobatics. I have been growing my craft in acro for two years.
Meet LANAE
Hello! My name is Lanae Watson. I am a dance major at the University of the Arts. I have been performing for sixteen years and teaching for seven. I have experience in almost every style and genre of dance. I am excited to teach for Summer 2021 Intensive for LDC this year!

It all started when…
Our Artistic Director, and Owner of LDC, wanted to expand the idea of what dancers and spectators see as competitive dance.
LOUD Dance Collective is unlike any other competitive dance team. Dancing with LOUD gives dancers, who may have been overlooked or underestimated by other dance companies, competitive teams, or organizations, an opportunity to refine their dance technique while learning innovative pieces of choreography with some of the top choreographers in the DMV area.
LOUD Dance Collective offers the same competitive environment and competitive platform as other dance studios/companies in the area. However, with LOUD, you will explore techniques and skills “outside of the [traditional] box”, and in turn, have an opportunity to share your unique talents on the competition stage.
Since its establishment in 2016, LOUD Dance Collective’s senior competitive teams have attended and successfully competed at multiple regional and national dance competitions, including OnStage America, Imagine Talent and Starpower National Talent Competition.
Each competition was marked with the dancers earning high platinum and diamond status for every solo, duet/trio and group routine entered into the competitive event.
LOUD Dance has also won numerous specialty awards for both the dancers and the choreographer including prizes for exceptional choreography and entertainment.
LOUD Dance Collective for the Professional creates, performs and educates through the art of dance. We inquire, provoke and celebrate diverse thoughts and actions in order to provide a voice for marginalized people and communities.
